Tropical Paradise

Hello Hello!  It's been awhile since I've posted.  I've been busy organizing my room, looking for a new apartment, paperwork, you know, REAL LIFE! *tear*  Before real life actually starts, I will be in Puerto Rico for six weeks this summer.  Obviously, I will be packing heavily (I always do) but I wanted to post some outfits I plan/wish on wearing while down there in the heat.  It's going to be brutally hot (or so my contact tells me).

Everything but the necklace and belt can be purchased by clicking, but you can get them both from Kohls.  I bought it and love it!  Purchase the necklace here or the belt here.

The Havaianas that I would wear are the gold toned ones, and I have a cuff very similar to the one here.  You think I'm crazy wearing black in Puerto Rico, but J.Crew's tee's are so airy and cool, I wouldn't really notice!

Finally, an evening out on the town look.  I'm not a big skirt person, but I love dresses (is that weird?)  Anyways, I kept the jewelry to a minimum because the dress is simple but gorgeous.

Oh and I will be bringing my new staple, OPI's Lincoln Park after Dark.  It's a dark midnight purple.

17 days till Puerto Rico!!

Say No to Clogs!

I don't why this trend is happening, or even why beloved Chanel models sported them for this Spring's Runway.

What is this? Better yet, whyyyy this! They aren't easy to walk in nor are they attractive.  Even Mary-Kate Olsen has added them to her Elizabeth and James line.  Say it aint so..

Let's get together and say no to clogs!

What the Hell Are You Wearing?

Too many coincidences happened today for me not to post this blog.  First, I'm watching Real Housewives of New York City.  Kelly is taking Simon out for a fashion makeover and helping him find new clothes so he can develop *good taste*.  Second, my dad called to talk about Gucci. yes, Gucci! Who knew?!  I also convinced him to burn (or atleast donate) those horrendous Hawaiian floral print shirts he saunters around in. My  father has an uncanny ability to dress well for work and then hobo around after hours.  I'm talking ripped shirts, horrible sandals, floral print shirts, toothpaste smears.  It's embarrassing really.  That in mind, this post is dedicated to all daughters who can help their naive dad's wardrobe for Father's Day.

What NOT to BUY!
What is with dad's and these floral tacky shirts? Sigh..

Early 80s -Ja-Na of Hawaii- Mens purple, white polyester broadcloth short sleeve Hawaiian shirt with fitted sides, straight hem, button front, patch pocket, medium width pointed collar, and overall hisbicus print

And let's be honest, fugly ties need to leave.  If your dad has any of these, please buy lighter fluid and start a small bonfire with these pieces.

Now for the good stuff!  Click on any to purchase, I know I will!!

Into The Wild

So with time before Puerto Rico, I've been living the life.  No alarm clock, no agenda, just complete freedom.  Doing so gives me alot of time to window shop online (and remind me I'm still a broke college student until my job starts)  Either way, I can't wait to get my hands on some tribal prints to wear with my blazers and black dresses. I will be in DC after all.

Beautiful and big enough to keep all my nonsense it.  The colors and beading are perfect for so many outfits.

Whenever I go to Kohls, I never find anything but this dress is perfect for the office!  It goes well with this necklace:

Okay, so this isn't tribal but I like the combo! The turquoise looks great with a black/white contrast.

Back to more tribal chic...

This is a more lust-after piece, but it's still gorgeous with an all black or white sheath dress. *takes a moment to sigh*

Finally, I need to transition from my cheapo flip-flops to work appropriate sandals.  That doesn't mean I can't have fun with it right?

Sadly this is only available in a size 6, so if you're lucky get them while there hot!

I Need New Nailpolish

I'm slowly packing up my things ready to move from my beloved college town to the most powerful city in the world- DC hello!  Going through all my stuff, I have so many nail lacquers but I still want more for the summer season.  I'll be in Puerto Rico for the summer, and what better excuse to wear wild crazy colors?

Chanel Nail Colour in Jade $23
This is one of those colors that looks great in a bottle but maybe not on my nails.  Also, the color wasn't available on their site, so I checked out Ebay and the prices were insane.  So my look for less is next:

essie Polish, Mint Candy Apple
Essie comes in a similar shade, but its called Mint Candy Apple for $8.  Can't say no to that.

Next up, a favorite store for quick and cheap must-haves:

Forever 21 Sunny Petunia Nail Polish $2.80

Forever 21 Pink Princess Nail Polish $2.80

It's not exactly summer but it's gorgeous and that's all that needs to be said.

Barry M Nail Polish
This shade of yellow is perfect for spring into summer without being obnoxious.  I want this one the most!

Lesson 6: Being a bitch.

Best lesson I've learned all day. Thanks to New York Magazine

Whitney heeds Kelly's advice and lashes into Olivia for blowing her off, calling her, "immature" and a "bitch."v. Olivia dismisses the discussion by citing miscommunication and walks out on Whitney.

Do: Copy Kelly Cutrone. When Kelly finds out Whitney is going to lunch with Olivia, she tells Whitney to scare her. Whitney wonders if this is professional, and of course Kelly tells her it is. "Take this bitch out," Kelly says. "You have to let people who are toxic and dangerous to you know you’re going to fucking fight back. Because you know where nice people land? On welfare." If only Whitney were clever enough to come up with such quips.

Trend Alert

It's getting close to summer and teeny weeny shorts and skirts are coming out to play! Until then, people are putting their blue denim away and opting for grey skinnies.  I own a pair but I couldn't put the right outfit together--until now.  Plenty of people are throwing inspiration my way!
